Insurance March 14, 2013
Evidently it pays off in this country to pay cash for antibiotics or have no insurance. Literally picked up a prescription for our son and paid more for it with Insurance than if we would of Paid Cash! How do I know, the cost associated with the medicine was so high I called them and the pharmacy gave us a credit for the difference. The hubs called the insurance today, who in turn told him that the pharmacy must of made an error and we needed to submit the cash claim if we wanted it to be counted towards our deductible. It is absolutely unbelievable that you pay MORE not LESS for having medical and prescription insurance, there is indeed a fine line between legal and illegal practice...not to mention off the charts on ethical standards!

Don't Say It!
What you absolutely should never say during a well child check to your child's pediatrician without risking the evaluation of your sanity.
(Pediatrician) I see your daughters left eye is red, if they start to develop discharge call me and I will prescribe an antibiotic.
(Crazy Me) you know I read an article about Ocular Herpes, it said you can pass the virus to the eyes from kissing someone and then they rub the virus in their eyes. My husband and I always kiss and hug our kids, and we've had cold sores, could she of rubbed her face at some point and developed ocular herpes?
(Pediatrician) Long pause with BLANK stare.....UM, NO...the likelihood is Pink Eye.
(Crazy Me) well I guess that's the end of that conversation! HA

Snow Days
Two days of lock down....with dreams of coco and marshmallows, while in reality, you have two very grumpy kids, stuck in the house, missing their friends and finding their only source of entertainment until it's warm enough to sled outside....fighting!
